Hello SJNOW Indivisibles,
1. MAY DAY RALLY IN PHILADELPHIA - WORKERS OVER BILLIONAIRES: In addition to the May Day No Work, No School, No Shopping effort, there is a rally planned at City Hall in Phila in support of all workers. For those SJNOW Indivisibles that might want to go to this rally of unions and supporters, here are 2 suggestions for ways to get there from a location in South Jersey:
-Option 1. Show up at 2:45 PM at 468 Pearl St in Camden and join the May Day: Camden to Philly March, sponsored by various SJ unions. The march starts at this location, goes across the Ben Franklin Bridge Walkway, and ends up at the 4 PM Rally at City Hall in Philly (a walk of about 2.2 miles). If people are unable to walk for this event, they are preparing ridesharing options to take people directly to Philly City Hall instead. Here is the Mobilize link: https://www.mobilize.us/mayday/event/930671/
-Option 2. Show up at 3 PM on May 1 at the Woodcrest Station of the PATCO High Speed Line. Join some of us who will be taking this train to the "15th/16th and Locust" stop in Philly and will be walking a few blocks to attend the 4 PM Rally at Philly City Hall.
2. DE-ICE CITIZENS BANK: The coalition supported a well-attended rally in conjunction with the bank's shareholder meeting in Providence RI. This included a large gathering at the company's headquarters, musical performances, and educational presentations. The event received significant media coverage - here are some examples: WPRI, Steve Ahlquist Substack
Locally, many of us continue to pressure municipalities and campaigns not to bank with Citizens until they stop funding ICE activities. We need to keep the pressure on - this is a marathon! Please consider joining us at a future rally - upcoming dates are May 2 and May 16. See Recurring Activities below for more information.
3. RESISTANCE ORGANIZING GROUP - WORKERS AND RETIREES RALLY: We continue to see great positive response, especially considering a very unpopular war and spiraling inflation. At the most recent rally we were joined by one of our LD8 Legislative Directors, who addressed the crowd and expressed gratitude for our efforts. It's great to see this kind of support from our elected officials! We'd love to have you join us - upcoming rallies will be on May 13 and 27. See Recurring Activities below for more information.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
1. Call to Action: Oppose H.R.1897- This Bill would gut the Endangered Species Act
H.R. 1897 – ESA Amendments Act: NPCA opposes this legislation which would undermine the protection of some of the most vulnerable national park species. For 50 years, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) has been a critically important tool in the conservation and restoration of the over 600 threatened and endangered species that depend on habitats in national parks. Species like the California condor, the humpback whale, and the Santa Rosa Island fox have all benefited from the restoration and recovery framework and support the ESA provides. While NPCA has concerns about many sections of this bill, we’ve highlighted a few major concerns below:
Section 2 would add several problematic definitions to the ESA that would negatively impact park wildlife.
Title I would likely politicize which species are prioritized for recovery, extending the timeline for listing species and fast-tracking delistings.
Title II allows for the destruction and killing of species without appropriate consideration by loosening “take” requirements.
In Title III, Section 301 appears to create a sliding scale that decreases species protections as “recovery goals” are met for threatened species.
Section 303 removes the opportunity for citizens to challenge federal decisions in court. This gives the public no recourse if the agency decides to delist a species prematurely or takes insufficient measures to make sure it is managed properly in the five years after delisting. It eliminates the checks and balances between the executive and judicial branches.
The cumulative impact of multiple titles would be unneeded bureaucratic process and paperwork for the already staff- and resource-depleted agencies working to implement that ESA. The dedicated professionals at USFWS, NPS, NOAA, and other federal agencies tasked with implementing the Endangered Species Act are currently under attack from unprecedented staff and funding cuts. H.R. 845 and H.R. 1897 will undermine, not enhance, the protection of our national parks and the wildlife that call them home.
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from ( ).
I'm calling to ask ______ to oppose changes to the Endangered Species Act, Bill H.R. 1897, to prevent gutting of protections for endangered species in our National Parks and natural environments.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
1. MAY DAY - NO WORK, NO SCHOOL, NO SHOPPING: On May Day, a coalition of over 200 organizations is calling for a national economic day of action. No work. No school. No shopping. Rallies, marches, and non-violent disruptions in cities across the country.
Showing up matters. We’ve proved that - with Tesla, with Avelo AIrlines, and with many recent elections at all levels of government. But showing up alone is not enough to stop people who are breaking every rule. We need to show them we have leverage, not just numbers.
Here's a link to Indivisible's May Day Participation guide with lots of great information and resources: https://indivisible.org/campaigns/may-day-participation-guide/
There is a training call tonight 8:00-9:30. Find out how you can participate in nonviolent, economic disruption on May 1 and learn more about the strategy behind economic noncooperation and why we’re taking action now. Register here: May Day Training Call
2. SENATOR ANDY KIM'S APRIL 2026 TOWN HALL IN LOGAN TOWNSHIP: Join Senator Andy Kim for an in-person town hall on Saturday, April 26, 2026 from 10 AM – 11:30 AM. Hear directly from Senator Kim about a range of issues including Trump’s war in Iran and its crushing impact on gas prices here at home. Senator Kim also wants to hear from you and answer your questions. Register here for more information and exact address: Senator Kim April 2026 Town Hall

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
1. Call to Action: Oppose the SAVE America Act
An extremist organization has poured $5 million into misleading ads about the SAVE Act—the most dangerous voter suppression bill since Jim Crow—that are running nightly during broadcast news programs on ABC, NBC, and CBS.
These ads accuse Democrats of blocking a “voter ID bill” and ask viewers to tell the Senate to pass the SAVE Act.
The group knows that if they told the truth about the bill—that it requires citizenship documents millions of people, such as married women, don’t have access to—support would plummet.
So they’re hiding the reality of the bill: It’s a trap designed to block tens of millions of Americans—especially women—from voting.
Donald Trump and his cronies in the Senate really are trying to pull out all the stops to pass the SAVE Act, and we know why. They believe the voter suppression bill would “guarantee the midterms” to Republicans—Trump’s even said as much.
Trump is encouraging the Senate to get rid of the filibuster in order to pass the bill. He’s had senators tack on amendments that attack transgender people in order to corner conservative state Democrats into voting for the bill. We know the Brennan Center for Justice estimates that the SAVE Act will stop tens of millions of people, especially women (who disproportionately vote for Democrats) from voting every year. Call your senators and tell them to oppose the Save America Act to preserve our voting rights.
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from ( ).
I'm calling to ask ______ to oppose the SAVE America Act, to prevent the disenfranchisement millions of legitimate voters.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

2. Resistance Organizing Group: We are encouraging more people to attend our 5 PM, WED, April 22 Rally to Fight Trump Attacks on Workers, Teachers, and Retirees. The Rally is located at the intersection of Rt 73N and Fellowship Rd in Mt Laurel. The Legislative Director from the Office of NJ LD-8 Assemblyman Anthony Angelozzi (for whom many of us knocked doors in 2025) is planning to attend this event. We would like to have a large number of people there.
NEW. MORE GOOD NEWS! HOORAY! Montclair Indivisible has just informed us of 2 more NJ groups that are hosting protests against Citizens Bank (CB) Funding ICE Prison Camps.
-These 2 more groups include: South Orange Maplewood Action (which Montclair Indivisible helped to start its bank protests) and the Lambertville Visibility Brigade.
-We reported earlier this week about new CB protests in Hoboken (which SJNOW Indivisible and Montclair Indivisible helped to initiate) and possibly in other towns in North Jersey. So, in the words of Montclair Indivisible, we are collectively "building momentum" against CB branches in NJ.
3. NEW - May Day: No Work. No school. No shopping.
National Indivisible is joining with May Day Strong, labor groups, and other allies to flex our economic power in a massive day of nonviolent, economic disruption on May 1.
On May Day, we’re putting the oligarchs on notice and reminding them -- in a language they understand -- where the real power lies in this country: with the people, not a wannabe-king.
There are a number of ways you can take action, from refusing to shop, to walking out of work, to attending a demonstration. No matter how you choose to join, together we can harness our power as workers and consumers.
For those SJNOW Indivisibles that might want to attend a big 4 PM, May Day "Workers Over Billionaires" Rally of unions and their supporters at City Hall in Philadelphia, here are 2 suggestions for ways to get there from a location in South Jersey.

GOOD NEWS! HOORAY! Insightful Announcement of the First Citizens Bank Rally in Hoboken, NJ, on April 25. Announcement below is from 2 North Jersey Indivisible Groups That SJNOW Indivisible Continues to Support.
One way we can try to stop ICE is by joining the growing number of NJ groups that are part of the larger regional movement and by protesting in front of Citizens Bank in Hoboken.
While 9 other banks have pledged not to fund ICE, Citizens Bank has doubled down, helping the largest ICE detention companies (CoreCivic & The GEO Group) secure more than $2.5 billion in financing!
Hoboken Resist & North Hudson Resistance have joined forces for a Communities Not Cages / De-ICE Citizens Bank Rally! Please RSVP to let us know that you can join us in this campaign!
When: Saturday, 4/25
Where: Citizens Bank, 221 River Street, Hoboken
Time: 10 AM to 11:30 AM
Why this is important:
- There's Power in Unity & Alignment
We're building a coordinated movement to get NJ groups to protest on the 1st Saturday of each month, starting in June. We're working, either directly or indirectly, with Montclair Indivisible, SJNOW Indivisible, Jersey Shore Blue, IONJ, Indivisible Highland Park, Cooper River Indivisible, GWB Indivisible, Teaneck, NJ-11, and more to create a powerful unified campaign.
- Pressure Campaigns Work
We pressured Spotify to stop airing ICE recruitment ads. We stopped Avelo Airlines from transporting ICE detainees. We hurt Tesla's bottom line with the Tesla Takedowns.
Call to Action: Support the BETS OFF Act to Regulate Prediction Markets
The use of online gambling and prediction markets on platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket has been on the rise over the last year, leading to problematic betting on political issues like elections, assassinations, and acts of war. There is currently no federal recourse against government officials betting in these prediction markets, leading to concerns about insider trading and the manipulation of politics for personal profit. Lawmakers have introduced the Banning Event Trading on Sensitive Operations and Federal Functions, the BETS OFF Act, to prevent wagering on events “where an individual knows or controls the outcome” and to legislate other common sense restrictions on the prediction market.
While prediction market platforms have existed for some time, they have been less regulated under the Trump administration. Political betting on these platforms garnered mainstream attention with wagers placed on the illegal war in Iran, including when two US pilots might be rescued posted shortly after their plane was shot down in Iran. CNN found that one Polymarket user has made nearly $1 million by winning 93% of their five-figure wagers about unannounced military operations in Iran, leading many to consider this user a political or military official with control over or foreknowledge about these decisions.
While some prediction market platforms have established some guardrails against insider trading and political gambling, they are still essentially self-regulated platforms, making them “ripe for rigging”. The bicameral BETS OFF Act would not only prevent those with insider political information from placing bets on policy decisions and political events, but it would also amend existing laws to enforce rules against illegal gambling on these platforms on the federal level.
Call your representative and tell them to support the BETS OFF Act to regulate betting on prediction market platforms and stop insider trading.
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from ( ).
I'm calling to ask ______ to support H.R. 7955, the BETS OFF Act, to regulate prediction markets and block insider trading. Political wagering on prediction market platforms can be easily abused, and restrictions must be enacted to stop government insiders from manipulating political events for personal profit.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Call to Action: No War With IRAN (Votes This Week)
House and Senate Democrats have introduced new war powers resolutions to rein in the Trump administration’s military action against Iran. Floor votes in both chambers are expected this week.
Trump has backed off from his genocidal threats last week and announced a two-week ceasefire between the US, Iran, and Israel. However, political leaders from both Iran and Israel have accused each other of ceasefire violations, and damage has been done to global economies and security. Congress must still hold Trump accountable for his reckless war and behavior.
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP].
I'm calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to take immediate action to end Trump's illegal war with Iran. I ask that [REP/SEN NAME]...
[CHOOSE any number of the following]:
support a war powers resolution to exert Congress's constitutional authority over military conflict, (and)
conduct aggressive oversight with public hearings on the Trump administration's actions in Iran, (and)
refuse to pass any supplemental funding for this unauthorized military action, (and)
move to impeach Trump for his repeated defiance of the Constitution and genocidal threats against innocent Iranian civilians.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
NEW. GREAT NEWS! Our SJNOW Indivisible Citizens Bank (CB): Stop Funding ICE Rallies in Marlton have been well attended (~20 people) and well received by motorists and bank customers. We have also helped several other Indivisible/progressive groups to initiate new protests at bank locations in both South Jersey and North Jersey!
So the Anti-CB movement in NJ and 12 other States, where coordinated protests at 80+ bank locations now occur on the first Saturday of each month, is really taking off now!
-We are encouraging more SJNOW Indivisibles to attend our next CB Rally at 10:30 AM, SAT, April 18. This Rally is demanding that Citizens Bank Stop Funding ICE Prison Camps. Rally occurs at a Citizens Bank branch, located at the intersection of Rt 73N and Greentree Rd in Marlton. We have plenty of signs that people can use at our Rallies.
-In March, we supported (via mentoring, sharing our handouts to customers, and our signage ideas) the initiation of a new CB protest in Montclair in Essex County, hosted by Montclair Indivisible.
-We recently supported the initiation of the first CB Rally in Sewell in Gloucester County on April 4. Hooray! The next Rally in Sewell will occur on April 18.
-BRAND NEW. During April 11-13, we helped people from North Hudson Resistance in Weehawken and from Hoboken Resist to plan their first CB Rally, which will occur on April 24 at a bank location in Hoboken, NJ.
-BRAND NEW. These Montclair, Weehawken, and Hoboken Indivisible groups are now approaching (on their own) other North Jersey Indivisible groups, especially those in Hudson County, to initiate additional CB protests at still more NJ bank locations in Rutherford, Jersey City, Fort Lee, Teaneck, and other towns! WOW!
Call to Action: Reform FISA Section 702 to Stop Government Surveillance (UPDATED 4/14) - HOUSE VOTES WED, APRIL 15
Updates
April 14, 2026: The House is set to vote this week on H.R. 8035, legislation to reauthorize FISA Section 702.
In April 2024, Congress passed the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act (RISAA), expanding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and redefining the laws that govern how the US can conduct foreign intelligence surveillance. This act extended a controversial 2008 law called Section 702, which allows for wiretapping and data collection from foreign nationals on US soil—including information shared with or by American citizens—without a warrant or court order. If not extended by a congressional vote, Section 702 is set to expire on April 20th, 2026.
Congress will vote on whether or not to extend Section 702 for another eighteen months just before the renewal deadline in mid-April, and while the White House is pushing for an extension without any amendments, many lawmakers on both sides of the aisle want significant reforms. Section 702 was designed with an expiration date so it could be renewed with periodic reconsideration of modern technical advancements, yet few significant reforms have been made since 2008. Opponents of the law argue that it has overstepped its bounds because “advances in technology, from AI to the explosion of Americans’ data available for purchase, have far outpaced the laws protecting Americans’ privacy and civil liberties.”
Section 702 has been repeatedly abused in the past, with the FBI using its loopholes to access the communications of “peaceful protesters, federal and state lawmakers, Congressional staff, thousands of campaign donors, journalists, and a judge reporting civil rights violations by local police.” As over one hundred civil liberties groups expressed in a March 19th letter to Congress, new advancements in technology will only create further opportunities for abuse of this surveillance, such as the use of AI to mine and sell personal data.
Section 702 has long been in need of reform and, if extended as is, will only lead to more sweeping government surveillance. Tell your representatives not to extend Section 702 of FISA without significant reform.
Here is your script:
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from _______.
I'm calling to urge Rep. Conaway/Norcross to oppose a clean reauthorization of Section 702 of FISA. Section 702’s numerous loopholes allow for unwarranted government surveillance and can be easily manipulated at the expense of Americans’ civil liberties. I ask that Rep. Conaway only support its extension with significant reforms.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
After several high-profile scandals and abuses of power in 2025, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is continuing to put the security of the US at risk. Since his rebranding as the “Secretary of War,” Hegseth has taken unprecedented actions with some of his orders being investigated as war crimes.
Hegseth has become “the face of Donald Trump’s war in Iran,” commanding the military to cause “death and destruction from the sky all day long” and making light of the deaths of US soldiers in Kuwait.
He is attempting to radicalize troops to support his genocidal Christian Nationalist beliefs. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has received over 200 complaints across more than 40 units about military officials using “end-times Christian rhetoric to justify war”.
He is abusing his position to globally advance his extreme Christian nationalist ideologies.
He gutted Pentagon oversight preventing independent investigations by watchdog agencies into the department.
He announced fewer consequences for those in the US military who engage in sexual misconduct or war crimes.
Hegseth is a danger to America. Demand your representatives call for the immediate impeachment of Defense Secretary Hegseth.
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
This has been a very busy week so I apologize in advance for all the emails!! We recently received information that Citizens Bank shareholders will be gathering for their annual meeting at bank headquaters in Providence, RI on April 23rd. There will be a protest there which we can attend and/or send an email. All the information is below.
Updates regarding a MAY DAY EVENT will be provided later this week as plans are still being solidified.
Action of the Week | April 7
De-ICE Citizens Bank
Greetings De-ICE Citizens Bank Activist,
Thank you for being part of the effort to keep the pressure on Citizens Bank to sever its ties with CoreCivic and The GEO Group, notorious ICE and private prison companies. This is your "action of the week" email!
FYI: On April 23rd, Citizens Bank shareholders will gather for their annual meeting at bank headquarters in Providence, RI. And we will be right outside to make sure they're aware of the ICE prison atrocities happening with their investments. Join us at 8 am for the protest, and stay if you can for art activism and teach-ins starting at 10. Info and sign up at mobilize.us/southcountyrisingri/event/929310.
This Week's Action:
Email Kristin Silberberg, Head of Investor Relations
To: Kristin.Silberberg@citizensbank.com
Subject: Stop Financing ICE Prisons
Suggested message:
Dear Kristin Silberberg, Head of Investor Relations,
I am calling on Citizens Bank to immediately end its financial relationships with CoreCivic and The GEO Group (GEO) and commit publicly to never financing private immigration detention or prison companies again.
Your team says you "engage with companies that conduct their business in a lawful manner." Not only have CoreCivic and GEO faced extensive allegations of human rights abuses, they are central to the expansion of a system that is threatening the very principle of due process. A system that has imprisoned thousands of children—including hundreds for longer than the court-prescribed limit.
Citizens cannot honor its commitment to fostering strong communities while profiting from companies that are instrumental in inflicting these harms. The choice is yours: align your actions with your stated values or continue down a path that will permanently link your brand to harmful detention practices.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Some great news from last nights meeting.....2 car loads of baby supplies were collected for the Beacon of Hope! OVER $700.00 worth of diapers alone!! Lots of food and $200.00 in cash donations! THANK YOU Indivisibles for being so generous and helpful!
On a not so great note, Donny dim-wit is threatening to "destroy a civilization" tonight at 8pm eastern time. Please take the time today to call your representatives and let them know how you feel about it! We must continue to not Normalize his INSANITY!!!!
The Call to Action for today:
Not One Cent More for Trump's War.
Trump's War Must be Stopped! Over the weekend, Trump promised to escalate his disastrous Iran war with attacks on civilians. Trump announced his plans to commit new war crimes against Iran -- attacking civilian infrastructure like power plants and bridges -- if the government doesn't cave to his (expletive-laden) demand that it open the Strait of Hormuz. Trump further told ABC News’ Rachel Scott on Sunday that “very little” is off the table if Iran doesn't make a peace deal. The regime's frenzied bloodlust must be stopped. Call your senators to say: Not one cent more for Trump's war.
Senator Cory Booker: (202) 224-3224
Senator Andy Kim: (202) 224-4744

Call To Action:
Trump's Endangered Species Committee Meeting Decision
The Endangered Species Committee met yesterday for the first time in 30 years. It included several Trump administration officials and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. This meeting was at the request of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth who has decided that lawsuits by environmental groups might hamper oil and gas companies from supplying energy supplies for Trump's war in Iran. Critics say that drilling in the Gulf could doom a rare whale species, Rice's Whale , of which only about 50 whales remain on this earth. Increasing fossil fuel production has been a central focus of Trump's second term, and the Gulf is one of the US top oil regions, already producing 2 million barrels a day. But the Gulf has been the scene of significant environmental disasters such as BP Deepwater Horizon blowout and, more recently, a 373 mile spill that contaminated 6 or more species and polluted 7 protected natural reserves. The Trump administration already this month approved BP's new $5 billion ultra-deepwater drilling in the Gulf. The Trump administrators decision ignored a federal judge's ruling that struck down attempts to weaken rules for endangered species in Trump's first term.
Script:
Hi! My name is (name). I am a constituent from (city, zip)* I am calling to urge my (REP/SEN) to fight Tuesday's decision of the Endangered Species Committee stacked with Trump Administrators who decided in favor of the President's rich friends and donors in the fossil fuel industry, at the expensive of endangered animals and natural preserves in the Gulf of Mexico. This decision is short-sighted and has lasting negative effects on our environment. Thanks for your time and attention.

Call To Action: Mail-in Voting
Yesterday President Trump signed an executive order aimed at making mail-in voting ineffective. States, not the President, have the authority to run elections. No one knows what authority Trump thinks he has to carry out this new order. He has often said that elections are rife with fraud and that he wants proof of citizenship for every vote.
President Trump's order directs the Homeland Security Secretary and the Social Security Administration Commissioner to compile and send "State Citizenship Lists" to all states' chief election official by 60 days before each federal election. The lists would be constructed from Federal citizenship and naturalization records, SSA records, SAVE data and other Federal databases deemed relevant. Once the eligible voters lists are created, the USPS will verify that each voter is a legal citizen voter, and a label will be created to be put on each ballot by the states before it is mailed.
Experts have said that voting in federal elections illegally is very rare because foreigners know they would be risking prosecution and deportation if caught.

Hi! My name is (name) and I am a constituent from (city, zip)* I'm calling to urge my (REP, SEN) to strongly oppose President Trump's executive order of 3/31/26 concerning mail-in voting. The order usurps the states' constitutional authority to administer elections and imposes needless and expensive voting restrictions which will destroy our highly effective and efficient mail-in voting system, potentially disenfranchising millions in the guise of fighting almost nonexistent election fraud. A noncitizen's single vote would hardly be worth the high risk of prosecution and deportation. Thank you for your time and attention.
