We are consumed with the news that ICE murdered a mother of 3, a US citizen.
Terrible things are happening. I’m going to offer you my way of dealing with all of the horror. I’m going to ask you to focus, not on what happened but on what the response was to what happened.
In 48 hours- 1200 marches and vigils were organized in all 50 states and DC for Renee Good. We are getting distracted by all of the horrible stuff. Renee Good, Venezuela, Greenland, the Epstein files etc etc etc. I’m going to give you a different narrative of the year 2025.
Quote from Leah Greenberg cofounder of Indivisible.,”While Trump has been able to do extraordinary damage that will have generational effects, he has not successfully consolidated power. This is not due to the efforts of elite institutions or political leadership, but due to the efforts of regular people who refused to surrender to fascism.”
The big picture? Despite capitulation from multiple institutions, ordinary people staved off authoritarian consolidation.
Hands Off, No Kings 1 and No Kings 2 were three of the biggest protest rallies ever held in American history.
The president is historically unpopular, with a very unpopular agenda like bombing Venezuela.
Trump has been busy destroying the roaring economy he was handed in January 2025. As more and more people are affected by his atrocious policies, backlash is growing.
ICE is spectacularly unpopular. Americans despise what they are seeing. They are fighting back and it is working.
The resistance is growing. Indivisible doubled the number of chapters and quadrupled its membership in 2025. Indivisible is just one of a soaring number of resistance groups.
Who read Michelle Goldberg’s full page editorial in the NY Times, 12/28/25 (The Trump Resistance is Getting Stronger).
Seen from the perspective of noted historian Heather Cox Richardson in her year end review, there have been specific pivot points.
April- The Wisconsin Supreme Court race . Elon Musk gave $20 million and still lost by 10 points. It seems like a lifetime ago, but remember our outrage at Elon Musk and
DOGE? They are all gone.
June 14- Trump’s washed up military parade coincided with the robust No Kings protest
Sept 23-When Disney took Kimmel off the air after a perceived negative comment about Charlie Kirk’s assassination, so many people cancelled Disney plus and Hulu that Kimmel’s show was reinstated.
Look how things start getting closer together.
Oct 18- No Kings 2. Huge big deal The American people wake up and the momentum shifts from the administration to the American people.
The people say:
The attempt to get rid of the federal government we have lived under for 250 years and replace it with a white Christian Nationalist Autocracy favored by only 4% of the American people is not OK. We stand with the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
We want:
The right of due process (for immigrants and everyone)
The right of our representatives in Congress to have the power of the purse
The right of our representatives to decide foreign trade policies
We don't want military in our cities.
We don’t want troops arresting us on the streets.
This is our government. What we care about needs to be represented (what leaders of the American Revolution said).
Everything starts to accelerate.
Oct 20- Trump knocks down the East Wing of the White House. Very Big Deal
Nov 5- The NJ and VA Governor’s races, legislative races
Nov 17- Trump is forced to sign the Epstein Transparency Act because of public pressure. Ramifications are only starting to be shown.
We are beating Republicans in special and off year elections. One source said Demcocrats have won 150 important elections. Every day it seems there’s another one. For example, A democrat just won 72-28 in an Iowa State Senate Special Election becoming the first black female senator in Iowa’s history.
We are seeing the rise of new young dynamic leaders.
Republicans are starting to break from Trump.
The Indiana Senate refused to do mid cycle redistricting despite massive pressure from the White House.
For the first time, a bipartisan House bill overturned Trump's executive order abolishing collective bargaining.
On Jan 8, The Senate passes a resolution to curb Trump’s ability to start wars in response to Trump’s actions in Venezuela.
At the same time, the House passes a bill to extend the ACA subsidies by 3 years. 17 Republicans defected to sign this.
Rep Khanna (D) and Massie (R), the cosponsors of the Epstein Transparency Act just asked a judge to appoint a Special Master and Independent Monitor to compel the DOJ to comply.
Two days after the Trump offered a bizarre version of the events of January 6, the Senate unanimously agreed to hang the plaque honoring the police who protected the capital. Congress passed a law in March 2022 ordering the plaque, but until now Republicans have prevented installation.
Senator Tom Tillis (R) said today he will block all Federal Reserve Nominees if DOJ doesn’t drop sham lawsuit against Jerome Powell.
Federal courts are ruling against Trump repeatedly (80% of the time according to Heather Cox Richardson)- some of that has been reversed by our partisan Supreme Court but not most off it. The Supreme Court only hears a fraction of these cases. Occasionally they even get it right- Supreme Court recently ruled that Trump can’t deploy the National Guard in Chicago.
On Dec 31 a Coalition of Democratic AG sued and won to restore $783 million in research grants to the NIH.
A judge blocked Trump’s attempt to block money for daycares from 5 Democratic states.
A judge disqualified an interim US attorney for the Northern District of NY. 5th time this has happened.
A federal judge just blocked Trump's executive order against vote by mail ballots in Washington and Oregon requiring proof of citizenship.
Grand juries are refusing to indict Trump enemies (Letitia James and James Comey).
3 grand juries refused to indict a protester who struggled while being pushed against the wall by ICE.
A Justice Department Paralegal was arrested for throwing a sandwich at ICE. He was acquitted by a jury. In the past, indictments by grand juries have been notoriously easy to secure. The public is fighting back against what it perceives as injustices against regular citizens.
Trump tried to pardon Tina Peters who was convicted on state charges of election interference in CO. Trump was informed that he had no authority, over state convictions.
Jack’s Smith congressional deposition where he clearly stated that he had evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump attempted to overthrow the 2020 election and that he was confident he would have won a conviction was released by Congressional Democrats on New Year’s Eve.
The people are getting louder and louder.
There are protests against the pillars supporting the regime. They are working. A key airline used by Trump for deportations (Avelo) cut its ties with ICE.
Spotify dropped its ICE ads.
What we are doing is working.
Taken alone any of these actions wouldn’t seem so significant. Taken together they show the story of what’s going to happen next.
I want you to believe this in every cell of your body, in your very soul- WE ARE WINNING.
It is likely that a lot of bad stuff is going to happen in the coming months-do not get thrown off course. The regime is counting on that. I want you to remember- WE ARE WINNING.
I want you to decide that every time you go to a rally, write a postcard, call your Congressman, recruit a new member to the group, register someone to vote or take any action against this regime- you are honoring someone
Renee Good?
The people of Venezuela?
The Democratic AGs, the Governors?
The judges who are standing up for the rule of law?
Jack Smith?
Jerome Powell?
Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin- feels very different now then she did a year ago. “Now is a moment of hope. People are organizing and either stopping or slowing down the administration. We have a lot of momentum. We have a road map for what we need to do.”
The 2026 midterms are going to be a bloodbath for Republicans. We’ll retake the House and possibly the Senate as well. We will then have some real power in the Federal Government and Democrats are going to use it.
Investigations will start. At some point Articles of Impeachment will be passed. This will occupy Trump’s time. I expect the House to wait until they are sure the Senate will convict. Trump is gone. Everyone apparently hates JD Vance. He’ll be impeached next and then Hakeem Jeffries will be the next President. This is totally possible.
With a Democratic House and the ability to investigate and televise the hearings, Republicans will know they are going to be held accountable for their illegal actions and enabling Trump. It will certainly make them think twice.
Trump has said he is going to target resistance groups. Leah and Ezra are very clear that they will not back down. ACLU is supporting them and they are lawyered up and ready. We need to be a brave as them.
No Kings 3 will likely be in late March.
Ezra and Leah say they feel the Indivisible movement has reached a crescendo in 2025.
When Trump is gone (I believe sooner then we think possible right now), we don't want to put everything back to the way it was. We will have an opportunity to fundamentally change this country for the better. This moment is ripe with possibilities. Can we ensure America meets its promise?
For example- Can Trump cancel the Midterms? NO. National elections are administered on a state by state basis. Trump has no authority to cancel the midterm elections. Any attempt to do so would be met by BIG pushback from state legislators.
"WE ARE WINNING!"

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
I'm Marie HK, leader of NJ Voters Want More Say. We are grateful for our partner Cooper River Indivisible in these actions tomorrow. Thanks for joining us in our solidarity with MN event(s) tomorrow! First, I apologize that Mobilize may not have sent you a confirmation like it usually does and second, it has not yet delivered an email to attendees that was set to be sent at 2pm today via Mobilize. (Those registered before today at 2pm may receive a duplicate email, if the gremlins finally deliver it) I am hoping that these glitches are happening because of a huge upsurge in planned actions to oppose the transformation of ICE into a gestapo force against Americans and our peaceful neighbors.
The coalition in MN has asked for national supporting groups to pressure several businesses that are enabling ICE in their assaults on MN.
Why Target? Target is Minnesota’s leading corporate citizen, originally founded in Minneapolis. It is the 4th largest employer in the state. On Thursday, January 8th, Customs and Border Patrol assaulted and kidnapped two US citizen employees while they were working a shift at the Richfield, MN Target store. On Sunday, January 11th, Customs and Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino entered the Midway Target in Saint Paul, MN, along with a team of agents to apparently film propaganda and detained 2 more employees, also US citizens. Target is not objecting to their parking lots being used as staging areas by ICE. And Target has not made any public statement in defense of their employees or made any legal reply against the abuse of employees or customers by ICE. Target should be standing with Minnesotans against these attacks.
Tomorrow, we'll be doing the Target focused version of what you may have seen in the news last month as 'ice scraper protests' at Home Depot! This 2 min Youtube short shows the SALT ICE actions in MN earlier this week. https://youtu.be/EdmrnEQzsRk?si=MDooG1DTk4GQY48C
We'll create some peaceful discomfort and send a message to management of Target that we demand better from them!
Our action will be a visibility event by our presence with our message on our flyers & by our action of creating a peaceful disruption, in the same idea of lunch counter protests in the fight for Civil Rights.
We will meet outside the store at designated time, We will all wear a flyer with a design from the MN Solidarity campaign which we'll pass out tomorrow at the store. Bring safety pins or tape to put this on the front or back of your coat. No Home made signs for this action! We can not carry signs into the store and the use of the same message on all flyers is important.
Take a shopping cart or basket to take up more space. Get one container of table salt of any brand in the SPICES aisle in the grocery department. Buy it, then go to return line and return the item. Voila!
Please be respectful & courteous to employees at all times. They are not our opponents.
We'll have a petition to sign to be presented to the store manager at a follow up visit next week.

ICE is terrorizing our communities, violating our constitutional rights, and killing innocent people -- and the House just voted to give them more money. Yesterday, the House passed a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including hundreds of millions of dollars in additional funding for ICE. That increase comes with no meaningful restrictions or accountability measures to rein in ICE and Border Patrol.
We’re demanding Congress use the appropriations process to end ICE and Border Patrol’s lawlessness. This bill doesn’t just fall short -- it increases the funding for their brutality. But this fight isn’t over.
The Senate will vote on the DHS appropriations bill next week -- and it cannot pass without Democratic votes.
Tell Senator Booker and Senator Kim to vote NO on this bill!
HERE'S YOUR SCRIPT:
Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent from [Your City, State].
I’m calling to urge Senator [Name] to refuse to vote for any appropriations bill funding the Department of Homeland Security that fails to rein in ICE.
Renee Good’s killing on January 7, is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against our communities.
We can’t wait around while ICE harms more people. Senator [NAME] must push for an appropriations bill that puts serious restrictions on ICE, ends its dragnet raids, and doesn’t add a penny to its already bloated budget.
Senator Corey Booker (202)224–3224, (856)338–8922
Senator Andy Kim (202)224–4744, (856)757–5353
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Please contact your Representative/Senators today to block any DHS appropriation bill or continuing resolution that maintains funding for ICE! Last chance to call on this bill!

Hi, my name is (name). I am a constituent living in (full address). I’m calling my (Rep/Sen) to oppose any DHS appropriation bill or continuing resolution with ICE funding, and I support taking back the $75 billion of ICE funds created by HR1 last year without any Congressional oversight, ICE is violent and lawless, and should be defunded and dissolved before any more citizens and immigrants are harmed. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
ICE Defunding
ICE received operational money when the federal government’s appropriations were finally approved. Adding funding from the “one big beautiful bill,“ ICE has a slush fund of $75 billion without any Congressional oversight.
The House has released text for a four-bill “minibus”, combining remaining appropriation bills that must be passed by January 30th. The House is expected to vote on the minibus this week
Because of recent abuses of power by ICE (Minneapolis) and its parent agency CBP, Customs and Border Protection (watch Jan18th episode of “60 Minutes”), the House wants to add new oversight to ICE and to cut back on the amount of money available to ICE that was created by HR1.
Please contact your Representative/Senators to block any DHS appropriation bill or continuing resolution that maintains funding for ICE.

The information from Minnesota has been made easier to read. It's on the website under "News."
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
The following is from Minnesota. This is long and detailed. They are telling us what to do to get ready. Probably only a few will read it. I think it's good preparation for the Feb 9 "Know Your Rights" presentation.
What resisters are doing in MN during the ICE surge & their advice
What can we prep in advance…
SUMMARY QUOTES
Organize organize organize. Make safe groups. Meet your neighbors. All of them. Bake them cookies and learn if they are safe trustworthy people. Find the charities you trust and ask them their needs now. Stockpile shelf stable foods, get observer training for your places of worship and community centers. Check in on your brown and black friends. Do not ask anybody their immigration status.
Love one another.
Report activities and video everything you see. Tell the ACLU what you have observed if anything remotely happens that is a violation of rights. Make noise!
Help your neighbors- help strangers. Help everyone. Nobody knows what they can or might do until it happens. Urge your congressmen to file restraining orders to get them the hell out of your state. Its terrible! And we are not OK.
Get yourselves organized NOW. Make RR kits ahead of time. Get plugged in.
Set up your school patrols and find out what your school and work’s ICE response will be when the time comes. Get your mutual aid networks connected now. Identify vulnerable people in your communities and get them plugged in.
Attend your city council meetings and speak up with your concerns about what's happening BEFORE it arrives in your city. Ask what will the elected officials and the local police department will do to ensure the safety of the people they serve and protect everyone's constitutional rights.
TRAINING/EDUCATION
· Hold sessions - Providing info sessions on what to do if ICE approaches you or someone else.
· Know your rights
· Legal information
COMMUNICATION CHANNELS
· Using secure comms to organize monitoring ICE activity and responding to it.
· Create localized encrypted chat groups for Rapid Response and separate ones for community logistics and organizing...only allow referrals (someone has to vouch for a new member) into the group. Delete the RR chat daily
· Have comms in the hyperlocal area with connections to broader community If you can make connections and groups now they'll be way more secure. Once something happens and everyone wants to help moles get swept in in the rush and can use your information against vulnerable people so once things get crazy. Make sure you know them before adding them to the group. Just remember why you're fighting and don't be afraid of them.
USE SECURE TECH
· Get up to date on the tech NOW. Download and learn to use apps like Signal, install a VPN, switch to safer GPS or at least use incognito Google maps.
· Download the Ready Now app. Turn off your location on your phone.
· Be prepared for night raids, door-to-door patrolling/knocking, and intel gathering.
· They are monitoring social media (they have software), gaining full access to ALL phones in areas they want to monitor without a warrant (they can literally
· Get people onto Signal. Set up neighborhood Signal groups, plus paper phone trees and email lists
· Hold education sessions on using more secure and private tech geofence an area). So use encrypted like Signal and turn off location, among other things!
WORKING WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES
· Sympathetic businesses provide support …local breweries are conducting fundraisers and food drives; local churches, coffee shops and restaurants providing food and drink to protest lines.
· Be aware of immigrant owned businesses in your area and 1) help them understand their rights as private business owners, and 2) give them support by frequenting their business!
· If you’re a therapist, prepare to have your schedule filled.
· If you’re a medical professional, know your patients rights and organizational policies. Protect patient information at all costs.
· Businesses should have a plan for when ICE shows up in your store. You have the right to lock the door and refuse entry. Discuss this with all employees before it happens.
· Have a plan for your businesses- look outs - people at the doors ready to lock them if ICE is seen.
· Tell businesses that stay open to label all doors private.
· We have local lawyers offering up contact cards and know-your-rights flyers.
NEWS/ INFORMATION
· Identify the vulnerable businesses and the potentially helpful businesses. Get info to them.
· Identify sympathetic local live streamers and reporters. Get information out to people beyond your state and do not rely on local news - even if you have trusted them. We are seeing the local affiliates to major news outlets spread misinformation
· Live streamers driving around following Ice, they have stopped 3 people from being taken, Mercado Media, Status Coup News , you can send cash app for gas and equipment
· Film anything you see. Including good things. People need to know they aren’t alone in the fight.
CONNECTING WITH NEIGHBORS
· Connect with neighbors who are more vulnerable so they feel safe and a little less alone. Make contact with vulnerable friends and family every single day.
· Getting to know who your neighbors are
· Set up daily check-ins
· Build trust with your neighbors NOW so everyone can help each other.
· If you have neighbors that could be targeted by ICE, let them know you support them. Offer to help them if you're able. We have so many people in hiding who can't get food right now.
VETTING
· Vetting community members. We’re utilizing Facebook to find safe community members by looks through our “community residents” page and sending them a link to a group only visible if you have the link.
· In there, we have another link to our signal chat.
· Encourage people to learn who everyone is on their street. Have a meeting with the “safe” people. Set up a Signal for the street. Pay attention, news sources, businesses and neighbors will show their true colors
DEFINED ROLES
· People of Color- stay home, stay safe. Helping families understand they need to shelter in place, then have a system in place to support them. Food, money, services.
· White people- it’s time to get out and stand up for your neighbors
· Decide now how you are going to help - will you be involved with mutual aid or will you protest or do rapid response? If you're doing mutual aid you will endanger every family you help if you're also heavily involved in protest or rapid response. These are different types of work - both very important - but different.
· Have a plan for how everyone will be used. We all have special skills we can use to help.
· Have folks that can escort kids to school, have some people who can deliver groceries/goods to ppl who can’t leave the house, some people to be legal observers filming, etc.
· Have rapid response people that are separate from mutual aid people. License plates are tracked so you want to keep the mutual aid people out of that mess so they don’t lead to people's homes.
· Choose a way you want to serve and stick with that “job”. For example if you choose rapid response it’s probably not the best idea to also deliver food to at risk homes. If you’re following ICE they’re taking down your license plate and I would hate for them to then potentially follow you on a grocery delivery.
· Encourage people to decide now what their role will be
PROTECTING OURSELVES
· ICE will run your plates and come to your home if you are an observer so keep a distance, use a rental car or be on foot. Do not open the door if they come to your home which they will!
· If you are taken, yell out your full name and a contact number for someone so people can call them for you to let them know you were snatched.
· Do not open your door! Call the police and have the police verify that they are in fact ICE and that they have a valid warrant from a judge.
· Have your passport on you even when you take out the trash. get your ID, birth certificate, ssn card ready.
· Make sure arrangements are made for children if parents don't return or are taken from the house. Make sure that person knows where the child's passport is.
· Make sure your doors are always locked and do not answer the door, cover your windows at all times, do not leave your apartment if the fire alarm goes off unless you have 100% verified there is a fire,
· Carry a whistle and blow it if you spot ICE to warn others (any vehicle with ‘out of state’ plates/no plates is suspicious and look for vehicles with dark tint with in state plates),
· Going out at night is not safe - drones are being used, record ICE on your phones
· Turn off facial recognition on your cell and use a passcode to unlock it,
· Get this info out to people. Have info sessions and printed material
· If you feel safe - mobilize (bring needed items to people, protest, etc), create signal groups to communicate and other social media pages to warn your community of activity.
· If you see them, get loud so everyone around you knows. If you hear the commotion show up (or get inside a secure building or even car).
· Bring the mail in- ICE goes through your mail. Install lots of cameras. Install steel door. Move your car into the garage if they are following your license plate.
· Know who’s going to pick up your kids if you can’t get there?
· Prepare to document everything, all the time, constantly. Never not record them.
· They WILL identify and harass you using your license plates or following you home or any other number of ways. We confirmed agents in my neighborhood with license plate readers going to houses with ICE OUT signs and taking note.
· Make sure all of your IDs, license plates, and car tabs are up to date. Make sure your car is in working order-- don't give anyone an excuse to pull you over, especially if you decide to do resistance work.
· Get a gas mask if you are able Put important phone numbers like the ACLU, MONARCA (or whatever your local RR organization is named), a local law firm, etc. in your contacts so you know who to call for various situations
· If you see people being taken, try to get their name and birthdate if possible if they can scream out a name to call, write all that down and add the date, time and location to a slip of paper
WHISTLES & KITS
· Buy and print a lot of 3D printing whistles
· Making and distributing anti-ICE kits with whistles, KYR, DO NOT ENTER signs for businesses
MUTUAL AID/PROTECTION FOR THE VULNERABLE
(People of Color andActivists)
· Delivering groceries and other necessities for families who can't leave their homes. dog walkers, errand runners, escorts to medical appointments, etc.
· GoFund Me for legal fees
· Set up neighborhood pages where volunteers can shop for, drive, help those who afraid to leave their homes
· Helping families who cannot go to work to pay the rent
· Pop up food pantry options that don't require ID to be shown because people will be too afraid to come if they have to identify themselves
· Provide families with legal service information and encourage them to get something like a delegation of parental rights signed so someone else can make legal decisions for their child that don’t involve the government.
· All people of color are carrying papers to show their citizenship status
· Stock up on food and water, cash, and anything else that you will need
· ID people who can 3D print whistles
· Buy a lot of whistles
· Get people involved in making and distributing kits
· Help POC get papers and IDs. Get a real or enhanced id if you don’t have a passport.
· Set up the infrastructure/networks for getting aid to people in each neighborhood
· Set people up with medication to be delivered so families do not have to go out for that
· Create a plan to help people get to critical appts like dialysis, chemo, etc.
PROTECT KIDS’ MENTAL HEALTH
· Discuss with your own children ways to help and be advocates for their friends or themselves.
· Talk to your children. They have been going to places children will see them. It is scary enough but if children know who they are and what to do, they will experience a little less fear. Let them know what you will do to keep them safe, what the school will do and who they can trust.
PROTECT SCHOOLS
· Advocate for online school options through school districts. Setting those up now will ensure students can utilize them when they are scared to leave their homes
· Talk to the school board. Make sure they are working with your local police department to keep ICE off school grounds.
· Contact school superintendents to get a clear idea of school policy in the event of an ICE raid. How will they protect students? How will they communicate with families? Is there a virtual option available for students who are fearful to come to school?
· Getting schools to allow e-learning for kids who cannot go out
· Get this info out to parents
· Start meetings with the schools
· School social workers play an important support role since they have connections to families (here, many schools are raising funds for rent).
· Organizing school drop-off and pick-up for kids whose parents can’t go out. One mother said she puts cards with her name number on it for the child to throw to protesters as they are being taken so they at least know whose child was stolen. They have ICE watch volunteers for school drop off and pick up.
· Set up parent volunteers to be at the school at drop off/pick up times (ours wear green vests and station on corners/entrances).
· Prepare schools and daycares for what to do if pick up time comes and there is no parent. Update emergency contact cards at schools/daycare.
· Our local high school has a Hispanic/latino club and we made a group of vetted safe adults from town that are partnering to help with whatever needs arise.
· Other targeted places: daycares, hospitals, courtrooms, businesses, churches/mosques/synagogues, shopping centers.
REMAIN PEACEFUL
· You will need your leaders to put out a calm word about the need for non-violence. Sing. Sing during your protests. It shifts the energy away from rage to powerful solidarity.
· They want us to riot so they can declare Marshal Law
· Training on how to protest non-violently.
· Commit to nonviolent response
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
· Understand that you will receive zero protection from local law enforcement.
· Meet with local LE & Verify with the local police force that they will protect citizens and NOT ICE
PROTESTS
· Get a 1000 watt PA system and blast "Baby Shark" at the hotels where they're staying at 3 am.
· There should be no support for ice. If you're feeding them "STOP". if you're housing them "STOP". no gas, alcohol, cigarettes, snacks nothing and as citizens if you find someone providing aid and comfort, "SHUT EM DOWN". Find their hotels and flatten their tires as they sleep and no tow trucks or mechanics should help them. Make life for them as miserable as they are making for you.
· Post volunteers at local restaurants/businesses that can watch for ICE and alert when they are near.
· Have people prepared to catch and put out smoke bombs.
· Get ready to protest. Your frontline needs signs made from plywood and umbrellas. Second line leaf blowers. To blow smoke from tear gas
· Flash bangs safety cones to smolder the Tear gas canisters.
· Get a cell phone lanyard to put around your neck so your phone cannot be knocked off your hand.
· Wear face protection and head protection in case there are paintballs, and other projectiles, including gas and or pepper spray.
· Buy protest flags over Amazon or vendors online because they take awhile to arrive.
· Stock up on supplies.
· ID who will be protesting and train them
· Buy whistles, boat horns and umbrellas for chemical attacks, consider a body cam off Amazon or other vendor. I have also seen people use five gallon plastic buckets for drums and used wooden spoons for sticks. Very effective noise makers.
· Make sure to turn Face ID off of phone when you go out.
· Plan the protests now, build the websites and media accounts now, so people know where to go for protest information.
· If you’re into protesting and they come to your city, buy a gas mask and a hazmat suit. They’re using pepper spray, pepper pellets and rubber bullets on us.
· Carry water, a whistle, and link arms with ppl, the ppl that are attacked are always alone link arm and arm make a wall fill the hole make it solid. Protect your face and eyes they want you to break form but stay linked together. Don't fight back, it's not worth it. If your protesting keep moving don't stop they will move if we stand in numbers. But it's going have to take all of us.
· Bring Leaf blowers to blow the spray in their direction. Of course cordless.
RAPID RESPONSE
· Rapid Response Teams respond and blow whistles to alert others in the area to prevent them from kidnapping more people.
· Tracking ICE. Heighten your situational awareness so as to avoid ICE near your location. If you have a drone (that you may be willing to sacrifice) think about flying above ICE locations and uploading live to Facebook. Wipe off your fingerprints first. Remove or obscure the serial number.
· Be observant, visible and loud. Establish a well-organized Signal (app) communication system. Break up specific neighborhoods into specific zones.
· Stock up on supplies.
· Set up Comms for RR.
· ID who will be doing it and train them.
· Get ICE license plate numbers. I have a dashcam and await communication to follow envoys and document actions and plate numbers.
· Get loud and stand together. Signal groups for small areas so people can get there quick. ICE absolutely hates being followed and filmed. They want to do everything in secret and they expect everyone to be afraid of them.
· If you’re rapid response you might consider leaving your personal phone at home and buy a cheap second phone for your drive time.
· Stock up on milk of magnesia and first aid kits for tear gas and medics
· Know who to call/contact for various situations

It Would Be a Shame
· It would be a shame if the protesters began making their signs out of quarter-inch-thick plywood to stop rubber bullets, forming a tight shield wall to prevent police from singling out and mobbing individual protesters.
· It would be a shame if the people behind the shield wall held up umbrellas so that tear gas canisters fired over their heads on the front line will be bounced away.
· It would be a shame if protesters began constructing improvised armor vests out of duct tape, hard-backed books, and ceramic tiles.
· It would be a shame if protesters started wearing safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, and gardening gloves, all of which can be found at the same hardware stores as the plywood.
· It would be a shame if they started using traffic cones (the kind without the hole in the top), upside down buckets, or other improvised lids to contain teargas by placing them over the canisters.
· It would be a shame if protesters learned that police scanners are legal to own in the US, allowing them to learn where police are moving, and what routes they intend to take.
· It would be a shame if they discovered that these scanners can be used to send as well as receive, allowing them to flood the scanner frequencies with noise.
· It would be a shame if protesters all had body cams themselves, or better yet eyewear that have built in cameras.
· It would be a shame if protesters used their key fob from their cars and hit the panic button when ICE shows up.
· All of this would be a terrible, terrible shame.
· *It would be an awful shame if you copied and pasted this, so that they couldn't delete the original and all linked posts
· (again).
· **An even worse shame would be to start donating these items to protesters!...
Some are asking what can I do if/ when ICE comes to my community?
· Ideas to pass along.
· IF you are the head of HR at some random company and one of your employees has a sudden no call no show. ( Auto apply PTO, Sick leave, or Vacation pay.) Assume they are in detention by ICE.
· Nurse or Dr: Let your neighborhood know your skills or make your skills available in areas where ICE may target. This is one time where you have a civil obligation to your fellow man to cut out insurance and such to be available to provide 1st Aid or Emergency Trauma care.
· Retail Service industry: (Restaurant owners/ servers/ wait staff, and yes even places such as Target and Walmart.)
· REFUSE service and entry to ICE agents. Have a designated "safe place" for any and all employees who might be targeted by ICE (they are targeted based on skin color alone as we have seen these past weeks)
· Transportation drivers: Bus/ mass transit - Refuse entry to ICE Agents - these riders are under your protection to arrive safely at their destination; you have a duty to protect them and deliver them safely.
· Stay at home folks: (Parents, spouses, elderly) WATCH YOUR NEIGHBORHOODS, FILM. CALL POLICE or 911 upon noticing ANY ICE agents going door to door in your neighborhoods. Document any 4th Amendment violations.
· Teachers/ Educators/ Administrators: Protect your students at all costs. You already have been dealing with the threat of Mass Shooters, now its the threat of Mass incarceration of kids. This is unacceptable.
· Postal clerks/ post people: You patrol our neighborhoods every day you are our first responders to alert our neighbors that they are under attack.
· Not everyone can protest, not everyone can do all the things, but EVERYONE has a role they can serve to protect our communities, our neighbors, our families, our friends.
· Not everyone can create a safe room or " Anne Franks Attic " space.....but if you have a home where it is feasible.....do so....if you have a space in your business, do so.
· Inform your families, staff, and such of what the expectation is so that each know what their designated role is in the event of such a incursion into your daily living and working. ( One films, one runs interference, one guides others to safety, and so on and so on. )
· Precious minutes of arguing legalities can save a life and someone being traumatized for the mere crime of existing. Not asking you to put your lives on the line, rather asking you to be ready should the moment arise to step into the gap and fill it where and when you can with what skills or tools you have available in your arsenal of life experiences.
· Frankly speaking ICE should be more afraid of HR managers than they should Veterans, or protestors....HR managers KNOW the laws and require tons of paperwork before they will even begin to attempt to comply and then onbly after multiple emails and follow ups with GMs, VPs, and CEO's.
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Contact your Congressperson and Senators to make sure that legally Congress must first authorize any US military force!
The Senate failed to pass the War Powers Resolution on January 15, 2026, because Republican Senator Hawley (from MO) and Senator Young (from N) changed their votes to NO in order to block the War Powers Resolution.. If approved, it would have stopped the Trump administration from furthering military action against and around Venezuela without Congress‘s prior approval. There is a significant US military presence building in the Caribbean and in nearby countries as a show of force to Venezuela, including about 15,000 troops, warships and fighter planes. Please contact your Congressperson and Senators to make sure that legally Congress must first authorize any US military force used against any other country, and assure that Trump does not get sweeping military authority to attack any other countries without prior Congressional approval.
Script:
“Hi my name is (name) and I am a constituent from (full address). I am calling to express my concern regarding the Trump administration’s unauthorized strikes and show of force in the Caribbean and around Venezuela. This is dangerous escalation towards an illegal and an unnecessary war.
(Pick one or more of the following):
1. Help pass the War Powers Resolution.
2. Investigate through public hearings the legality and justification for Trump‘s aggressive use of military force.
3. Call for the resignation of Secretary of State, Rubio and the impeachment of Secretary of Defense Hegseth.
4. Support the articles of impeachment and convict Trump for his repeated defiance of the laws of war.”

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
As of Sunday, Jan 18, NJ Governor Phil Murphy has not signed the Immigration Protection Act!! If Governor Murphy doesn’t sign this package of 3 bills by TUESDAY, Jan 20, before his term ends, the 3 bills will die.
Call: Governor Murphy on MONDAY, Jan 18, at (609) 292-6000 or text to him at (732) 605-5455:
Script:
“ Hi! My name is (Full Name) and I am a constituent living at (Full address), I am asking you, Governor Murphy to please sign the Immigration Protection Act before your term as NJ Governor ends on Tuesday, because we need to:
1) prevent our state and local resources from being used for Federal ICE enforcement. They have an outrageous $75 billion federal budget line already
2) protect peoples’ personal information and
3) guarantee due process for all persons.
We are a nation of immigrants, and helping hard-working immigrants is good for all of us.”
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Time: Sunday Jan 18, 12pm - 1:30pm
Where: SIdewalk on Haddonfield Rd adjacent Wegman's Liquors
SInce you attended our rally last Sunday, I'm inviting you to join us again. Here's link to coverage on 6ABC of our rally last Sunday week
★ We walk away from fascism. ★
★ We walk towards a Free America. ★
★ We fight for a future that belongs to us all. ★
★ Everybody in, nobody out. ★
One year into this regime, we face escalating fascist threats: ICE raids on our communities, troops occupying our cities, families torn apart, mass surveillance, terror used to keep us silent, and repeated public statements with false claims regarding events that have publicly viewed video recordings .
The violence and violation of our civil rights by federal agents is un-American. As Americans, we rally to stand in solidarity with our neighbors facing these abuses by the regime and we call for our nation to reflect the American values that we expect and demand in Our American Government.
*Bring your signs displaying 1. the values that you prioritize in our FREE AMERICA on one side AND 2. your opposition to the un-American tactics of ICE/DHS on the other side. Let's show what we are for and what we oppose!
*Wear red, white, and blue and bring your flags to display our love of country.
*Use #FreeAmerica for social media posts
Some things to keep in mind: - This is a peaceful demonstration. We do not allow signs that encourage, glorify, or incite violence. - In order to ensure the safety of everyone present, we ask that nobody cross or step into the street or shoulder during this demonstration, and cross roads only at crosswalks.
Do not engage with agitators! This is for our safety AND there are new efforts to get recordings of peaceful rally goers in angry responses. This can then be posted as fodder to feed their propaganda of the "dangerous radical left" for support of oppression via Insurrection Act & more. Do Not Provide Them with Content!!
Onward together,
Marie H.
NJ Voters Want More Say
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
1. Cook Political Report has shifted a slew of House seats towards the Democrats. The Blue tsunami is coming.
A few days ago Mary Peltola declared she will run for Senate in Alaska. As of that announcement, there is now a viable path to Democrats flipping the Senate in November as well.
We have to win NC. Maine, OH and Alaska. Obviously we have to keep Jon Ossoff’s seat in GA.
2. Let’s support Minnesota! Beth Clement’s niece lives there and there is a grassroots effort to help all of the immigrants who cannot leave their houses.
My niece Kim lives in a suburb of Minneapolis and shared with me a local church that is in need of support to help sustain their community which as we know is being terrorized right now, people are afraid to go to work or shop for essentials. I copied this from her Facebook page, which is:
Ingrid C.A. Rasmussen, she is the Pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
If you have any questions I’m happy to answer as best I am able. Thank you!
"If you’re feeling helpless, but have a few bucks in your pocket or a few thousand in your QCD, let me know. Fifteen days into 2026, I have exhausted our large pastors’ discretionary account paying for legal services for those most affected and covering Lake Street immigrant-owned business rents. We will keep helping because we believe in manna—that enough will show for today and enough will show up for tomorrow."

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
We need some volunteers for snack committee. You don’t have to help every month. Maybe you can only help intermittently. I can reimburse you. If you are willing to bring a plate of brownies (for example) every once in a while, please let me know. There only a few people who are doing most of the work.
If you are enjoying your coffee and snacks, please help. Email me directly.
There is some news:
Gov Murphy (NOT YET) signed the Immigrant Protections Package.
This will:
-protect privacy
-keep ICE out of hospitals, school and churches
-codifies the 2018 Immigrant Trust Directive that limits Police cooperation with ICE
Thanks to everyone who made phone calls and rallied.
From Indivisible: IMPORTANT!!
We have an opportunity, this month, to rein in ICE’S lawlessness nationwide.
Funding for DHS runs out in 5 days. Funding cannot pass without Democratic votes in the Senate, so we have real leverage here. Please call Senator Andy Kim and Senator Cory Booker and thank them for voting NO on the DHS funding bill.

Call To Action - Stop the Healthcare crisis
Last year, Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” let the Affordable Care Act tax credits expire. It was one of the many provisions of the bill that screwed over working Americans to pay for tax breaks for some of the richest people in history. As a result, 22 million Americans saw their premiums double on January 1, and it is projected that up to six million will soon lose their coverage.
But last Thursday, there was a breakthrough. Seventeen House Republicans backed a Democratic bill to restore the subsidies and end the healthcare nightmare of the GOP’s own making. Seventeen House Republicans saw the writing on the wall, understanding that they’d be held responsible for the lives upended -- and lost -- due to the healthcare crisis they unleashed. Now it’s the Senate’s turn.
Call your Senators and demand that they vote to extend the Affordable Care Act subsidies immediately.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
1. We are starting Postcarding again. These are Postcards to Register New Democratic Voters. We are sending them for Jon Ossoff-GA. It is critical to flipping the Senate in 2026 that we keep this seat. Sue Anolik is no longer doing this. For right now, you will send your requests to me.
As per usual, tell me how many postcards you are committing to sending out. Since these are for the election in November, you have plenty of time. You can ask for them over and over, but don't ask for more than you can do. If you are new to postcarding with us, please ask for instructions as they may be slightly different than what you've done for other postcard campaigns. You will pick up the postcards from the gray bin on my porch. I will always notify you when your bag is ready for pick up.
We do have a discount stamp site. I will tell you that one of our members mailed six postcards using the stamps to people around the state. Five of those postcards were received. I can't personally recommend this site but five out of six is not bad and the discount is amazing. The other site we were using ran out of stamps. Another member says she uses these stamps regularly and has never had a problem. I was the person who didn’t receive the postcard. I more than occasionally get other people’s mail so I would discount what happened to me. My neighbor probably got it.
SAVE THIS WEBSITE - PLEASE DON'T ASK ME FOR THIS AGAIN
2. We need volunteers for the snack committee. Please email me if interested. If you want to be popular, everyone loves the snack committee….just saying.
3. We collected $325 in donations last night.!!! Thank you!

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
The SJNOW Indivisible Resistance Organizing Group (ROG) is planning its first Rally in support of Workers and Retirees on January 14 at 4 pm at the corner of route 73 N and Fellowship Road in Mount Laurel (parking in Aloft/Millers parking lot). Goals for this Rally are to generate visibility to the plight of workers and retirees affected by funding cuts to federal social support programs and reductions in force to federal agencies. This Rally also supports the AFGE union’s Social Security workers National Day of Action. The rally site is on a public sidewalk and is in close proximity to the local Social Security Office.
Please join us if you can! Signs will be available. If you’d like to bring your own please make sure the message is focused on the issue at hand, e.g. “Fight Trump Attack on Workers and Retirees” or “Fully Staff the Soc Sec Admin”. Any questions contact Pete Bilazarian or Rich Cleaver.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Call your Senators. Let's stop ICE now!
The brutal murder of American citizen Renee Good by an ICE agent is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity and abuse carried out by federal ICE agents against our communities. In fact, dozens of people have died while under ICE custody, making 2025 ICE's deadliest year in over 2 decades.
Our Senators can use their power to vote on appropriations bills to rein in ICE.
Script:
Hi, my name is ________ and I'm a constituent from _____, New Jersey.
I'm calling to urge Senator ________ to refuse to vote for any appropriations bill that fails to rein in ICE.
The brutal murder of Renee Good was horrific and is a part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence that is must be stopped.
We can't wait around while ICE harms more people. I'm asking Senator ______ to push for an appropriations bill that puts serious restrictions on ICE, ends its reckless raids, and doesn't add a penny to its already bloated budget. Thank you in advance.

Let's get out and demonstrate that we will not accept the cruel and lawless behavior of this regime!
One of the most important things you can do right now is to gather in your own community this weekend to say ICE Out for Good. You can also get trained up and prepped for future action, with a few options offered below.
Call recording - last night's nationwide call
Ready to take action? Join us for the ICE Out for Good Weekend of Action January 10 - January 12. Learn more by reading the toolkit: http://bit.ly/4ptuucs

A US citizen and mother of 3 was murdered by ICE. What is our response going to be?
Indivisible has organized a nationwide call for everyone tonight at 8pm. The call will be recorded if you sign up.
Eileen,
Today, ICE killed a woman named Renee Nicole Good during an operation in Minneapolis. Based on everything we’ve seen, this appears to be murder -- plain and simple.
Violence is nothing new for Trump’s secret police force. But this killing is a tragic escalation in the racist campaign of terror being carried out against communities across our nation. It’s proof of what happens when armed thugs are unleashed into our neighborhoods without oversight or accountability.
And it needs to be a galvanizing moment for every American to join the activists who’ve been fighting this brutality day in and day out for years in saying: ENOUGH.
Our call will feature concrete actions you can take to address abuses by ICE and demand accountability.
Arresting the agent that pulled the trigger is an essential first step. But let no one be under the illusion that this is an isolated incident. Trump and the ghouls in his cabinet have stoked a culture of violence at ICE that’s manifested in near-daily atrocities. Already, they’re spreading lies about what happened in Minneapolis and lionizing the agents involved -- emboldening more brutality, unless we act.
Our response needs to be loud. It needs to be nationwide. It needs to be peaceful. And it needs to address the full rottenness of Trump’s fascist police force and the system that’s allowed it to rampage our country with the budget of a national army.
Join our emergency call to learn how you can get involved.
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
P.S. Unable to join us live? That's ok, the call will be recorded. Sign up and we’ll send you the link.

Good morning, Eileen. I hope this finds you well. 2. PEOPLE ARE NEEDED TO GO TO TRENTON ON JAN 6 OR 8 TO LOBBY FOR 3 NJ IMMIGRANT PROTECTION BILLS
The NJ Immigrant Trust Act (ITA) has now been repackaged as 3 separate Bills (Safe Communities Act, Privacy Protection Act, IDT Codification Bill) that are being introduced in the State House in Trenton. We have one week to get these Bills passed.
CRI and NJAIJ support the passage of these 3 Bills. These organizations also believe that the most important thing that people can do now is to show up at the Trenton State House on Jan 5, 6, and/or 8 to lobby NJ legislators for these Bills.

FIRST. Call US Senators Booker and Kim and Congressman Conaway's Offices ASAP to urge them to publicly and repeatedly speak out with these Anti-War messages, if you have not already done so.

Senator Cory Booker - 202-224-3224 856-338-8922

SECOND. Attend the special Anti Venezuela War Rally, organized by Dave Lipshutz and others, at NOON on Sunday, Jan 4 at the intersection of Rt 38 and Ark Road in Mount Laurel. (Park in the Aldi's Parking Lot.)
URGENT ITEM 2. PEOPLE ARE NEEDED TO GO TO TRENTON ON JAN 5, 6, OR 8 TO LOBBY FOR 3 NJ IMMIGRANT PROTECTION BILLS
This is Breaking News from Gretchen Seibert from Cooper River Indivisible (CRI) and the huge NJ Alliance for Immigrant Justice (NJA IJ) group,
The NJ Immigrant Trust Act (ITA) has now been repackaged as 3 separate Bills (Safe Communities Act, Privacy Protection Act, IDT Codification Bill) that are being introduced in the State House in Trenton. We have one week to get these Bills passed.
CRI and NJAIJ support the passage of these 3 Bills. These organizations also believe that the most important thing that people can do now is to show up at the Trenton State House on Jan 5, 6, and/or 8 to lobby NJ legislators for these Bills.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS
Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
All of this information comes from Heather Cox Richardson, noted historian. It’s not my personal opinion.
Last night, Trump bombed the capital of Venezuela without provocation and abducted Nicolas Maduro , the current President of Venezuela, and his wife. To be clear, neither Congress nor the Gang of 8 was notified. Congress alone has the power to declare war. Maduro’s a bad guy. That doesn’t matter.
The Act was illegal, a violation of the constitution and an impeachable event.
This is a HUGE crisis for America and the World. This is a direct attack on our Constitution and aligns us with Russia.
The Rules Based Order that has prevailed since the end of WW2 says countries cannot invade each other. It is against the tenants of the UN Charter.
We must have a huge reaction to this or Trump will move quickly to establish a dictatorship. This is a direct quote from the historian.
Everyone must call their Senators and Congressman and blow this up.
Leave messages on the weekend and call again on Monday.
Senator Andy Kim - 202-224-4744 - 856-757-5353
Senator Cory Booker - 202-224-3224 - 856-338-8922

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
THIS IS IMPORTANT AND URGENT! The main results of the Dec 29 movement-wide call (as reported by Pete Bilazarian) to catch many activists up on where the NJ Immigrant Trust Act (ITA) bill and its principles stand are as follows.
(Please note the new info below concerning how Cooper River Indivisible (CRI) is organizing, for both CRI and SJNOW Indivisible, car pooling on Jan 5, 6, and 8 from Collinswood to the Trenton State House, in order to lobby NJ legislators to pass the ITA out of Committees.)
The current 2-year NJ Legislative Session ends on Jan 12, which will be a Bill Voting Day and the last possible day for this Session to pass the ITA (or possibly 3 separate new Bills that cover the contents of the ITA).
The NJ State Assembly seems to be on board with the ITA, since Speaker Coughlin recently had an ICE Raid in his district. So the primary focus now is on the NJ Senate, especially on convincing Senate President Scutari to support the ITA.
The main thing people need to do now to help in this last ditch effort to pass the ITA is the following. Show up in person at the State House in Trenton on Jan 5, 6, and 8, when there are scheduled Committee Hearings that must first pass the ITA, and lobby in person their State Senators and Assembly Members.
So any SJNOW Indivisible Members, who can make it to the Trenton State House on any of these 3 dates, should do so.
For those interested in car pooling from Collingswood to Trenton on these 3 dates, please email Gretchen Seibert from CRI at gretchseib@aol.com.
Phone calls to legislative offices will not be very useful at this point.
FROM THE SJNOW INDIVISIBLE CALL TO ACTION GROUP
A very sincere thank you to everyone who took part in a Call To Action in 2025.
The US Senate does not return until Monday, Jan 5, and the US House does not return until Tuesday, Jan 6.
If possible, spend some time relaxing, traveling, reading a good book, rejuvenating, and preparing for 2026.
If you have not seen the Visibility Brigade “Operation Activate”, the link is below and it is a potential help in inspiring people not yet involved to awaken from their ‘learned helplessness’ and start taking action.
