Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
The following message about the Tennessee special election is VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!
TN7 Special Election – December 2!
The GOP incumbent resigned earlier this year, and now the latest poll shows this race is a dead heat—just 2 points apart, well within the margin of error. This seat is absolutely flippable.
We built incredible momentum in NJ—now it’s time to channel that energy into flipping a House seat in Tennessee. Every call we make helps block the current regime from pushing its authoritarian agenda.
Daily phonebanking is happening right now through Monday night. Sign up, complete the quick training, and you can start making calls whenever it works for you. https://www.mobilize.us/aftynforcongress/event/826070/?referring_vol=2375073&rname=Rich&share_context=event_details&share_medium=copy_link
This is our moment. Let’s seize it. Let’s help flip TN7. Let’s do this!

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Call to Action: Urge NJ Senators to Support the Shutdown Fairness Act, S. 3168
While the federal government shutdown has recently ended, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and other federal employee unions have deep concerns about the growing use of government shutdowns as leverage for political gain.
That’s why AFGE is urging support for legislation recently introduced in the Senate, S. 3168, the Shutdown Fairness Act. This bipartisan legislation will finally ensure that federal employees are protected from the financial harm of government shutdowns. The bill also ensures that military personnel will also be paid during shutdowns.
When the government shuts down, federal employees shouldn’t have to choose between paying rent and serving their country. S. 3168 guarantees that funds are used only and directly to pay federal employees—no diversions, no loopholes, no politics. Every dollar goes straight to the people who make government work.
This isn’t a partisan issue—it’s a fairness issue. Federal employees from every state, every community, and every agency deserve the assurance that their livelihoods won’t be held hostage in budget fights. The revised version of S. 3168 strengthens these protections, ensuring that all current federal employees are paid on time and in full, even when Congress can’t reach a funding agreement.
Shutdowns don’t just hurt federal employees—they hurt families, communities, and the economy.
Contact Your NJ Senators and Urge Them to Publicly Support Passage of S. 3168

NOV 27-DEC 1 INDIVISIBLE "WE AIN'T BUYING IT" BOYCOTT CAMPAIGN
The holiday season is fast approaching. As we enter into the traditional shopping extravaganza, we have a unique opportunity to flex our power. The wheels of American capitalism turn with consumer dollars, which means we can use them to discipline corporations who are enabling Donald Trump's agenda.
National Indivisible is calling it the "We Ain't Buying It" boycott campaign.
The targets: Target, Amazon, and Home Depot.
The ask: don't spend your money with any of these three from Thanksgiving Day until December 1st.
Why these three companies?
Target shamefully rolled back their DEI policies upon the election of Donald Trump
Amazon has donated to Donald Trump while offering ICE and other government agencies discounted contracts, in exchange for massive corporate tax breaks
Home Depot has not protected immigrants in their stores while allowing ICE free reign to operate on their properties
Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday are peak shopping days for our corporate overlords. Let's celebrate by living our values and putting them into action. Read more about the We Ain't Buying It campaign here, and click below to take the pledge.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
As many of you are aware Trumps Department of Education created a list of degrees that are no longer considered "professional."
This reclassification will put these degrees in danger of losing federal loan access.
The list of degrees are as follows:
Architects, Accountants, Audiologist
Business Masters, Counselors
Educators, Engineering, Nursing
Occupational Therapist, Physician Assistants
Physical Therapist, Social Workers, Speech Therapist
However, a theologian and chiropractor is considered more "professional" than the above list! Please contact your representatives and let them know that this is yet another absurdity we must fight against!!

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
This workshop really appeals to me right now. How do we not burn out every few months? How do we deal with the flood of toxic information and actions without getting completely overwhelmed?
We knew it would get worse before it got better. We have to nurture and take care of ourselves. I am going to listen to this Zoom.

Dear SJNOW Indivisibles,
IN THE PAST FEW DAYS, SEVERAL OF THE MOST POWERFUL PILLARS OF GOVERNMENT —THE LEGISLATURE, THE JUDICIARY AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAVE STOOD UP TO TRUMP AND CHALLENGED HIS GRIP ON POWER
The House and Senate Stand Up to Trump and Ignominiously Defeat Him
In the past two days, the landscape of power in Washington, D.C. suddenly changed. Despite Trump’s battling the release of the Epstein files vociferously for months, the U.S. House of Representatives voted in a landslide on Wednesday to pass the “Epstein Files Transparency Act”, followed immediately by the Senate deciding to pass the act, based upon the unanimous consent of every Republican and Democratic member. This was such a humiliation for the President and such a repudiation of his policies, that it led House Representative Ro Khanna, D. Calif., to state that this was the “Beginning of the end of the Trump Presidency.” In the face of this popular revolt, Trump decided to sign the Act into law.
The issue of the release of the Epstein files followed months in which Mr. Khanna brought to public attention the plight of the Epstein victims, women who have never seen justice brought to the perpetrators of the crimes against them. Going from state to state, speaking to Republicans throughout the country, in conservative television programs and other media, Mr. Khanna gave the victims a platform and a voice. Before the vote, even previously loyal Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene had come to champion the cause. Another Republican, Thomas Massie, R. Ky., joined with Mr. Khanna to bring the issue to the fore.
After the vote, Mr. Khanna predicted on Wednesday that Democrats could not only win the House in 2026, but possibly the Senate as well, because of the Epstein issue and other vulnerable issues for the Republicans, such as the tariffs and the resultant rise in the cost of living.
Currently, based on a new poll, the Democrats have the largest generic ballot lead since 2017. A CNN poll came out putting Trump’s disapproval to approval rating at 58% to 39%, with 48% strongly disapproving. A PBS/NPR/Marist poll done on November 10th to 13th, found that Americans preferred to elect a Democrat rather than a Republican by 55% to 41%.
The Judiciary Continues to Defy Trump
After the D.C. Circuit Court allowed the lower court by order last Friday to continue its pursuit of a prosecution of the Trump administration for criminal contempt, Judge Boasberg stated he would begin hearings as soon as possible. The prosecution stems from the Trump administration having ignored the judge’s order to turn the planes around that were taking Venezuelan immigrants to a notorious torture prison, not in their home country, but in in El Salvador, where inmates have been raped, brutally beaten and tortured. Apparently, some of the deportees were not attached to gangs as the Trump administration alleged and the court found the government’s case against them was “frivolous.” Hearings could begin as soon as December 1st.
Today a federal judge temporarily blocked a Trump order to keep 2000 National Guard soldiers deployed in Washington D.C., allegedly to help stem crime in the city. This was the latest blow to the president’s efforts to deploy military forces in Democratic cities without the backing of local leaders. Judge Jia M. Cobb of the federal district court in D.C., held that “At its core, Congress has given the District rights to govern itself,” adding that “Those riots are infringed upon when Defendants approve, in excess of their statutory authority, the deployment of National Guard troops to the District.” The judge stayed her own order for three weeks to give the government time to appeal.
Catholic Group and Clergy File Lawsuit Against the Trump Administration Due to Conditions at Chicago ICE Facility
Yesterday a Catholic group, the Coalition for Spiritual and Public Leadership along with several clergy members filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for allowing ICE to unlawfully block clergy from ministering to people at an ICE detention facility in Illinois. The suit also alleges that conditions at the facility are unlawful, unsanitary and unsafe. The facility in Broadview, Illinois, has become so notorious that it has recently become a symbol of the Trump immigration crackdown.
The lawsuit follows a recent speech by the Pope in which he quote Jesus as asking, “How did you receive the foreigner?” The Pope, an American with relatives who are Black, White and Creole, originated from the area of Chicago and New Orleans.
URGENT NOTICE:
We received an urgent notice yesterday about events in the next two days and we were asked to notify you as set forth below. These events are in Washington, D.C. Please see the printed flyers below the text on this page, above our Calls to Action.
Call to Action from Indivisible’s National Organization:
If you have a Democratic senator, demand that they call for Chuck Schumer to step down as minority leader. Last week’s total surrender shows, once again, that Chuck Schumer is not the right leader for this moment. Senate Dems need bold new leadership to effectively fight the Trump regime, and that starts by convincing Schumer to step aside
Sign up to call voters and get out the vote for Aftyn Behn -- a former Indivisible running to flip a red congressional seat! Our next chance to stomp the regime at the ballot box is in Tennessee, where Aftyn Behn can flip a district Trump won by double-digits if we turn enough voters out. You can call voters from anywhere. All you need is a phone and computer, and we offer live training before the shift!
Ongoing Call to Action: Urge the NJ Senate President and the NJ Assembly Speaker to Bring to the Floor and Support Passage of the Immigrant Trust Act (S3672/A4987) during the Lame Duck Session, which begins after the NJ 2025 Election on Nov 4. This act will help protect immigrants and N.J. citizens from being swept up in raids by ICE and other federal armed forces. It is essential for the safety of all N.J. residents!

Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin: 732–855–7441

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Dear SJNOW Indivisibles,
We just received an urgent notice about events in the next few days and we were asked to notify you as set forth below. These events are in Washington, D.C. Search for: "Remove the Regime" - Nov 20 -> Nov 22, 2025
THE CATHOLIC CHURCH CONDEMNS DONALD TRUMP’S IMMIGRATION POLICIES
Several days ago, the Catholic Church turned on Donald Trump in a historic condemnation of his immigration policies. As one of the most powerful moral institutions on the planet, with well over a billion followers, the Church’s criticism may have a powerful effect on the American electorate, which includes 62 million Catholics—20% of the total population. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued an unanimous statement, stating that Trump’s crackdown was a violation of “God-given human dignity”. They called for a comprehensive reform of U.S. immigration laws. This followed an urgent request by the Pope last month for the U.S. Bishops to speak out about these policies. This action by the Catholic Church, one of the most important pillars of power in America will provide a moral standard reflecting the views of many Americans, a majority of whom, (52% as per a poll last month), now reject Trump’s actions on immigration as too severe.
THE “EPSTEIN FILES TRANSPARENCY ACT” PASSES THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Today the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to release the Epstein files in their entirety with a vote of 427 to 1. The Senate majority leader, John Thune, said the Senate might vote to approve it as early as today and Donald Trump said he will sign it. This is a result of grassroots pressure on the Trump administration and Congress, not only by groups like ours, but also by Republican citizens. Demands by the MAGA base threatened to split the movement if the files were not released. The vote on the bill occurred even after the Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson sent his members home to avoid a vote on the bill and shut down the government for forty-three days by refusing to continue Affordable Care Act provisions that helped Americans afford health care. During that same time, Johnson refused to swear in a recently elected Democratic member to avoid a vote on the bill to release the Epstein files, known as the “Epstein Files Transparency Act”.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
The next monthly meeting is tomorrow Nov 17 at 7pm at the Community Health Center in Mount Laurel. Doors open at 6:30pm for coffee snd snacks.
WHO WANTS AN SJNOWIndivisible T-shirt, long sleeved T, sweatshirt, cap or knit hat? Please email Eileen directly at eileenghill@gmail.com. She cannot open a webstore until she has received 40-50 orders. You don’t need to pay now—just say what you want to order.
Our EFFORTS: You were amazing! You went to rallies with inspirational signs, using your love of our Democracy as well as your sense of humor, to encourage the Resistance!
You went door to door canvassing to get out the vote! You went to college campuses, high schools, county and town fairs to register new voters! You tirelessly wrote postcards to get people to the polls! You did phone banking and text banking for votes!
The result of the hard work of our organization, along with others, was that our Democratic candidate for Governor, Mikie Sherrill, set a record for the most votes for any New Jersey gubernatorial candidate in history, with over 60% of the vote! She will be only the second woman to become Governor of New Jersey, (the other having been Christine Todd Whitman. In the 1990’s). Democrats also swept the election for N.J. Assembly and Senate seats! Fantastic work everyone! We should all feel proud of the work we have done! We should all celebrate
As Governor, Mikie plans to tackle utility costs on an emergency basis, as well as housing costs through homebuyers credits. She also plans to address healthcare by working with pharmaceutical middle managers to achieve lower drug pricing, and will join the lawsuit to push back on tariffs . Improving child safety and education, while lowering taxes by reducing administrative costs, are also on her agenda.
OUR NEXT INITIATIVE: We will be making Calls to Action to Senate President Nicholas Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin to put the Immigrant Trust Act up for a Vote in the N.J. Assembly and Senate. The purpose is to establish protections for immigrants, separating law enforcement from federal immigration enforcement and protecting the rights of these people, as well as our own citizens, who have often been swept up in immigration raids by ICE officials. (SEE CALL TO ACTION BELOW FOR DETAILS).
MORE ENCOURAGING NEWS: Since the shutdown, the polls for the current administration are plummeting! According to a new Associated Press-NORC poll, only 33% of U.S. adults approve of the way the Republican president is managing the government. This is in large part due to a decline in approval by Republicans and Independents. Republican support was down by 30% to a low of 68%. Independents’ approval dropped from an already low 38% to only 25%. Vive la Resistance!
Call to Action:
Urge the NJ Senate President and the NJ Assembly Speaker to Bring to the Floor and Support Passage of the Immigrant Trust Act (S3672/A4987) during the Lame Duck Session, which begins after the NJ 2025 Election on Nov 4.
The Immigrant Trust Act establishes protections for immigrants interacting with government agencies. The enforcement of federal immigration law is the responsibility of the federal government and falls outside the scope of state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies.
The Immigrant Trust Act protests the personal information of NJ immigrants, since it limits what can be collected by agencies. It separates law enforcement from federal immigration enforcement. It limits NJ involvement in federal detection and deportation systems. It eliminates caveats that deny some legal protections to immigrants that are enjoyed by NJ citizens.
The Immigrant Trust Act requires public schools, health care facilities, libraries, and shelters to adopt policies to help immigrants feel safe. It also requires law enforcement agencies to submit reports on their interaction with immigration authorities.
Script:
Hi, my name is (name) and I am a constituent from (city, zip). I’m calling urge (Senate President Nicholas Scutari/Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin) to bring to the floor and support passage of the Immigrant Trust Act (S3672/A4987) during the lame duck session that begins after the upcoming election. With the current Immigrant Trust Directive being challenged and outside threats looming, there is no time to waste in strengthening protections for New Jersey's numerous hard working immigrant communities. This moment calls for leadership and decisive action. Please do your part to ensure that NJ remains the state of liberty and prosperity.
Thank you.

Senate President Nicholas Scutari: 732–827–7480
Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin: 732–855–7441

I’m on the Cooper River Indivisible rapid response team for Camden County and we’re helping to get a rapid response team started for Burlington County. There will be a training in Pemberton on November 19 at 7 pm at the Grace Episcopal Church. Below is a link to register (DSA is also involved). Diane

2. I was just on a Strategy Call with Ezra and Leah (along with 1500 other Leaders) discussing what our next steps are given the Democratic Senators' surrender.
To hear more about it, come to the next meeting!
Monday Nov 17 at 7pm at the Mount Laurel Communtiy Center. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Remember to bring a donation for the South Jersey Food Bank to feed people affected by the pause in SNAP payments.
3. I am going to open another webstore for our very popular SJNOWIndivisible T shirts. The store has short and long sleeve T shirts as well as hats and sweatshirts. I need 40-50 people to email me and say they are definitely ordering something in order to open the webstore. The T shirts are about $25. I had a few people ask about knit hats for winter. I can only get those if at least 12 people want them.
I will also have a sign up sheet at the next meeting. I don't need any money now. You will pay when you order from the webstore. You can have the item mailed to your house (expensive) or I will pick them up in bulk and you can pick up from my house in Mount Laurel.

Indivisible is calling on all of us to cancel our premium Spotify accounts because they are running ICE ads.
This is a tough for me and I'm still copying my music lists so I can cancel.
Go to spotify.com/account and log in.
Click “Cancel Premium” (or “Cancel Subscription”).
We encourage you to leave a note explaining your cancellation. You can write something like, “Canceling until Spotify terminates ICE ads.”
Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation. Your Premium benefits will continue until the end of your billing period, then your account will revert to the free plan.
Don't use Spotify? Help us spread the word on social media so that those who DO can cancel their subscription.
And, we even have tips on alternative streaming platforms you can use, plus instructions for how to move your playlists to those streaming services. For more tips on how to participate in this important campaign, go ahead and check out our Cancel Spotify page.

Senators Booker and Kim voted NO. They are standing strong to protect the American people.
There must be strong legislative language to extend ACA tax credits, fully fund programs like SNAP and WIC, protect federal workers from future firings, and BLOCK Trump’s authoritarian takeover of the federal budget.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
CALL TO ACTION!
Call Senate President Nicholas Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (during the workday) to support the Immigrant Trust Act. This bill needs to be brought to the floor for a vote. The bill establishes protection for immigrants interacting with government agencies. It separates law enforcement form federal immigration enforcement which is the responsibility of the federal government and falls outside the scope of state, county and municipal law enforcement agents. It requires public schools, healthcare facilities, libraries and shelters to adopt policies that help immigrants feel safe. It protects personal information-limits what can be collected by agencies and requires law enforcement agencies to submit reports on their interaction with immigration authorities.
Your script:
I'm calling to ask that _________bring to the floor and support passage of the Immigrant Trust Act (S3672/A4987). With the immigrant Trust Directive being challenged and outside threats looming there is no time to waste in strengthening protections for New Jersey's hard working immigrant communities. This moment calls for leadership and decisive action Please do your part to ensure New Jersey remains the state of liberty and prosperity.
Senate President Nicholas Scutari 732-827-7480
Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin 732-855-7441

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
It is time to Celebrate!!! In 2 hours I will be at Laurel Acres Park having the time of my life celebrating our win. We worked really hard and it paid off.
Democratic wins all over the country including the Governor of Virginia.
Call to Action:
We have to continue to show our support for our Democratic congressmen as Trump's maximum pain strategy ramps up in his government shutdown. Our leaders need to hear that we are still with them. We do not have to trade short-term pain for long-term suffering and a broken healthcare system. CALL our democratic leaders and tell them we are thankful they are fighting and urge them to hold the line in the Trump shutdown.

By the Numbers: Early Vote Data Shows Strong Momentum for Mikie and NJ Democrats
BLOOMFIELD — The momentum continues to grow for Mikie and Democrats up and down the ballot, and the early vote data is proof of that. As of Monday, Mikie and Democrats now have a firewall of over 201,000 votes heading into the final stretch.
“The data shows what we’ve been hearing on the ground for months — voters are fired up and excited for Mikie’s bold leadership and vision. Mikie heads into the final stretch of this race as the clear frontrunner, and she’s ready to bring this home, make Jack a three-time loser, and get to work driving down costs for New Jerseyans,” said Mikie Sherrill for Governor Campaign Manager Alex Ball.
Take a look for yourself:
Across all 21 counties, Democrats have strong momentum that continues to grow:
As of Monday, Mikie and Democrats now have a firewall of over 201,000 votes heading into the final stretch.
Democrats are on the path to a higher firewall margin against Republicans compared to 2021.
The vote-by-mail firewall is strong:
As of Monday, Democrats have a vote-by-mail firewall of more than 195,800.
Compared to that day in 2021, Democrats had a vote-by-mail firewall of 167,000.
In all 21 counties, Democrats are excited to make their voices heard and are utilizing early in-person voting:
On day one, Democrats had a margin of 2,671 early in-person votes against Republicans.
With day two data in, Democrats now have a combined raw margin of more than 5,300 early in-person votes cast.
Democrats have nearly doubled our raw early in-person vote margin.
Every single county in the state is seeing a net increase in the percentage of Democratic early votes cast compared to this time in 2024:
Republicans have seen net decreases in the percentage of early vote in Cumberland, Hudson, Mercer, and Sussex counties.
In all 21 counties, there is a net increase in the percentage of Democratic early votes cast compared to 2024.
Democrats are activated and energized to elect Mikie Sherrill:
As of day two of early voting in 2024, the Democrat advantage over Republicans of all early in-person voting cast was about 1.13%.
As of day two of early voting in 2025, the Democrat advantage over Republicans of all early in-person voting cast is 3.28% – nearly triple the advantage compared to 2024.
Even infrequent Democrat voters are making their voices heard:
Democrats are driving out more infrequent voters who did not vote in the last four general elections (2021 - 2024) than Republicans by nearly a 2:1 margin.
New Jersey women are fired up to get Mikie elected:
Nearly 60% of Democrats who have voted are women, while nearly 55% of the entire electorate is women, with Democrats driving that number up each day.
Jack has made it clear that he doesn’t care about Black and Latino communities, and it’s showing as Black and Latino voters are barely turning out for Republicans:
As of day two of early voting in 2025, only 1% of the Republican electorate is Black voters, while 10% of the Democratic electorate is Black voters.
As of day two of early voting in 2025, only 5% of the Republican electorate are Latino voters, while 10% of the Democratic electorate is Latino voters.
We know Republicans need turnout in Monmouth and Ocean County, but Republicans just aren’t excited about Jack. Democrats are holding their own, even in the early vote numbers here as well:
Ocean County has the highest Democratic to Republican vote-by-mail return rate margin: Ocean Democrats are returning their ballots at a rate of 7.56% higher than Republicans.
Monmouth County is also performing strongly: Monmouth Democrats are returning their ballots at a rate of 3.35% higher than Republicans.
And that’s not all. Democrats in some of the most Republican counties in the state are fired up to vote for Mikie Sherrill:
Cape May County: Democrats are returning their ballots at a rate of 3.64% higher than Republicans.
Sussex County: Democrats are returning their ballots at a rate of 3.49% higher than Republicans.
Hunterdon County: Democrats are returning their ballots at a rate of 3.21% higher than Republicans.
Warren County: Democrats are returning their ballots at a rate of 1.49% higher than Republicans.
Here’s the bottom line: The momentum only continues to grow. With each update, Democrats are growing their raw margins against Republicans ahead of Election Day.

Hello SJNOWIndivisibles,
Can you cook at all?
Ralph Hendrickson has asked for our help.
After major abdominal surgery, Ralph is healing slowly. He is the cook in the family. He and his wife have never asked for help before from anyone.
Let's show him we care.
Thank you to the people who have already signed up.
There are 6 slots open. Can we get a few more to sign up?
The dates open are 11/15, 11/26, 11/29, 12/10, 12/17, 12/20
He will be on the low fiber diet Nov 15 (link is in the sign up sheet). It is likely it will be liberalized after that.
We are asking people to provide 3 dinners for two people. Not large amounts. Drop offs are on the weekend and on Wednesdays.
Spices are OK along with things like soy sauce, marinades etc.
According to Ralph, they typically eat pretty simple food. It doesn’t sound like there is anything he doesn’t like.
The only no no is garlic
If the two page diet doesn’t specifically exclude something, it is OK.
Please address questions to me directly by text or email.
I would call them before you drop off to make sure it is a good time. Please email me to request Ralph’s cell number after you sign up.
They are very very very appreciative of the meals.
